- When visiting a beach resort, take a cover up. Although France’s beaches tend to be liberal, wearing a bathing suit on the street is highly looked down upon.
- France is a rainy country; so bring a raincoat or umbrella regardless of the season you are traveling.
- The area around the Mediterranean tends to get chilly in winter, bring a sweater or a warm jacket.
- Purse snatching and pick pocketing in France is common. Bring a bag that can strap across your body, or a zippered pack that sits close to your body to protect your belongings. Also, French law requires that you carry identification with you at all times.
