It's difficult to say: in Africa you have both sides of the medal, for what concerns travel and tourism. On one side you have people traveling to the most "exotic" sites, generally on the beach, in luxury villages, five stars resorts, very expensive and very exclusive. There are also luxury safaris to go watch wild animals, indeed.
But this doesn't show the real face of African continent: now imagine to be the scenario's director I depicted few words up, go some yards back and look at the same place like if you were a native of those places.
Just outside the protected walls of those "paradises" you won't see the same level of life condition. You will see people not having enough to eat (most of them), many crimes because value of life is nothing, and people of the rich category not taking care of this.
I would prefer much better to help them doing something real than going there only with a purpose of personal satisfaction, and not helping them.
