  Travel in Saint Louis

Travel in Saint Louis Near the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers is St. Louis - a diverse city that signifies some of the most prominent history of our nation. Previously the land of many Native American tribes, the present city, was founded in 1764 by the French fur trader Pierre Laclede. It soon came under the American flag with Thomas Jefferson's passionate purchase of the Louisiana Territory. Soon after, it became the major starting point for western pioneers, including Louis & Clark. The famous Jefferson National Memorial and Gateway Arch, commemorates some of the most important history of our nation. The museum and arch are a must see.

With its roots in industry and travel, St. Louis offers visitors culture, a beautiful riverfront, a world famous brewery and same of the best blues and jazz in the mid-west.
