Colonial Williamsburg is a fully restored tribute to colonial American history. Set up much like a theme park, where you pay a set fee to enter all the intriguing attractions, a visit is like a textbook come-to-life. You'll meander the cobblestone streets past apothecaries, taverns, churches, craft makers, and silver smiths, stopping along the way for interactive presentations by shopkeepers dressed in period garb. The buildings showcase both the era's governmental and daily life past. In the capitol complex you'll visit the General Court where Bluebeard and other famous felons were tried. A tour through the radiant Governor's Palace proves how well the governing bodies were treated and revered.
