Seattle Cruise the Locks

Seattle Cruise the Locks Cost: $38.00
Tour Length: Half Day
Activity Level: Easy to Moderate

Seattle is synonymous with water - and not just rain! From driving over and around our large lakes and bays to relaxing in the sun on the boat deck, water is an integral part of living in Seattle.

The Hiram Chittenden Locks, built in 1911, link the saltwater of Puget Sound to the freshwater of Lake Union and Lake Washington. Presently, 80,000 to 100,000 vessels go through the locks each year, from pleasure craft to tugs towing log booms.

Cruising on to Elliott Bay, you'll be fascinated by the marine activity - it's a highway for every kind of vessel. Watch the architecturally varied Seattle skyline unfold. Look west to the islands of Puget Sound and the snowcapped Olympic Mountains. (Light snacks and beverages are available on board for purchase).
