The Pennsylvania Horticultural Societies 2004 Philadelphia Flower Show---the largest and most prestigious indoor flower show in the world, centrally located in the Pennsylvania Convention Center, located at 12th and Arch Streets, is our destination today. As you travel through Philadelphia, notice its downtown and neighborhoods, where you’ll see the work of Philadelphia Green in public landscapes including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, JFK Boulevard near 30th Street Station, along Penn’s Landing and in neighborhoods and community parks throughout the city.

Come celebrate the Philadelphia Flower Show’s 175th Birthday Anniversary! The Show will be bigger and better than ever. You won’t want to miss it!

Each year the Philadelphia Flower Show depicts a different theme that is carried through many of the displays in the 10 acre Main Exhibition Hall. These themed displays are most prevalent along the main aisle of Hall A where large-scale displays known as the Show’s Central Feature exhibits will interpret the 2004 theme,“Destination Paradise”.

The Philadelphia Flower Show will take visitors on a journey of pleasure and discovery with its 175th anniversary presentation. "Destination Paradise" opens with ethereal dragonflies and sparkling fireflies keeping rhythm to the sound of bullfrogs. Hanging plants and vines welcome visitors into this wonderland of orchids, tropical flora and dancing rays of light.

The splashing sound of a waterfall entices everyone to an enchanting grotto from which a giant stone face gazes. A wall of moss astounds viewers on a South Pacific island landscaped with the largest collection of specimen orchids ever presented in the country.

Surrounded by iridescent air bubbles, a mythical scene on the floor of a tropical sea comes alive with an ingenious use of succulents in "Underwater Paradise." This unique presentation glows with an aura of tranquility and serenity and sets the stage for an elaborate horticultural presentation.

Mischievous angels complete the central feature with "This Place Called Paradise," as they cavort among creations of roses, lilies and orchids bathed in a spectrum of glittering colors.
