The Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge not only provides a perfect nesting place for over 500 species, 16 of which are endangered, it also serves as a buffer for NASA's Kennedy Space Station. You'll have the opportunity to hike the trails that journey past estuaries, marshes, forests, and sand dunes. If you prefer, the Refuge also offers a seven-mile scenic drive with overlooks and wildlife viewing areas.
