The South Street Seaport is located in New York's Financial District. Formerly a sailship port, the area now hosts an urban marketplace of hundreds of retailers, pushcart vendors, and cute boutiques. Also a great place to lunch, the seaport has close to 40 eateries of all types. If time permits, the sailing buff will love to peruse the Seaport Museum that showcases one of the world's largest fleets of sailing vessels.
