Minnesotans have a penchance for shopping. Not the pretentious high-end shopping of Beverly Hills, but grand scale mall shopping. Because it is cold most of the year in Minnesota residents prefer their shopping districts to be fully contained. It's no wonder that Minnesota begat Mall of America, the largest mall in the nation (the largest mall in the world resides in Canada, an equally cold habitat). And it isn't just a mall, mind you, it also has the largest indoor family theme park, Camp Snoopy. You're likely to get lost in this gargantuan structure, and you may have the odd sense of deja vu after awhile, as some retails have two of the very same store located on different floors! You are sure to enjoy Bloomingdale's, Macy's, Nordstrom and Sears, over 520 specialty shops, and 60 restaurants/nightclubs. Open daily except Thanksgiving and Christmas: Mon.-Sat. 10am-9:30pm; Sun. 11am-7pm.
