Death Valley National Park on first glance seems desolate, hence the name, however, upon a closer look you'll discover awesome sand dunes, rare wildlife, high peaks, and low valleys that sit way below sea level. Rains are infrequent, but when they visit the wildflowers are absolutely spectacular. The landscape is dotted with odd wind aged mines and abandoned industrial buildings. The best time of year to visit is in the wintertime, as the pounding summer heat is often unbearable.
