The Stranahan House, the oldest house in Fort Lauderdale, was built in 1893 by the city's Ohioan founding father Frank Stranahan. He wore a lot of hats in those days as a trader with the Indians and aide to other settlers. The house has been utilized as a bank, post office, restaurant, trading post, town hall, and most currently, a historic house and museum.
