Deep Ellum is an African American community that has grown from its history. Being one of three small settlements just northeast of downtown many legends were created here. Small businesses and performing arts facilities helped to create this unique neighborhood of Dallas. This area is now a Dallas art and nightlife hot spot. Everything from folk art festivals to extreme nightlife parties can be found in the quarter of Dallas known as Deep Ellum.
