Cape Cod is known as the Arm of Massachusetts, stretching languidly out to sea. A popular tourist spot, the area is home to sweet villages and rambling seaside estates, as well as malls and other city fare. Busiest in the summer months, it is recommended to visit in May or September for a more serene, yet still warm, experience.

The Cape Cod National Seashore's miles of sandy beaches offer a practically untouched respite from the increasingly citified coastline. You'll see old lighthouses, explore the nature trails, marvel at the sand dunes, and gaze upon the glassy kettle ponds.
