Caernarfon is one of the most authentically Welsh cities in Wales. In fact, visitors will even have the opportunities to hear spoken Welsh here. King Enwrd I's son was made the first prince of Wales here in 1301 and, as a result, Caernarfon has maintained rather close royal connections. It is an excellent city for excursions into Snowdonia.
