The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust manages and cares for the 5 Shakespeare houses in and around Stratford-upon-Avon. These are: Shakespeare's Birthplace , Anne Hathaway's Cottage, Nash's House & New Place, Hall's Croft and Mary Ardens House. Each house has its own unique character and family connection to William Shakespeare and offers a different insight into the world in which the famous playwright was born, lived worked and died. There are guides in each house. The highlight is the world famous house where William Shakespeare was born in 1564 and where he grew up.
