Westminster Abbey is undoubtedly one of Britain's finest Gothic buildings. In this abbey were held innumerably coronations, marriages and burials of the British monarchs throughout antiquity. Today, visitors are treated to a wealth of attractions: the Grave of the Unknown Warrior, the Royal Tombs and Shrine of St Edward the Confessor, the Coronation Chair, Lady Chapel and Poets' Corner, the Pyx Chamber, the Nave and cloisters, and the Royal Chapels. Today, more than ever before the Abbey is available for viewing due to the introduction of a wonderful new lighting system, introduced to ring in the new millennium.
