Kensington Palace is one of Sir Christopher Wren's more impressive masterpieces. He lavishly improved the original house turning it into a palace for William III and Mary II. It remained a royal home and was the birthplace of Queen Victoria. The general public is welcome to tour the lovely State Apartments.
