The namesake of the city, are the amazing Roman Baths. Enjoy the tour of the ancient bathing rooms and marvel at the still operating hot springs, which still produce a steady stream of water, always exactly 46.5° Celsius. Also tour the late 15th century abbey built upon the site of an ancient Saxon and Norman abbey. It is a magnificent example of the perpendicular period of English Gothic architecture displaying an interesting and splendid fan vaulting.
