Donkin Reserve

Overlooking the city and bay, the reserve is the site of a stone pyramid erected by Sir Rufane Donkin in memory of his wife, Elizabeth, after whom he named the city in 1820. The lighthouse, built in 1861, houses the Port Elizabeth Publicity Association.
