The Ezulwini Valley lies between Mbabane and Manzini, and is where Swaziland’s King Mswati III lives and rules the Kingdom with his Queen Mother or Ndlovukazi/She-Elephant. It is in the Valley where each August all the Kingdom’s young virgins perform the traditional Umhlanga, or Reed, Dance in front of the King and Queen Mother. From the performing the King chooses a new wife to add to his ever-growing number. Some of the Kingdom’s best restaurants are found in the Ezulwini valley, as well as many crafts and brightly woven baskets.
