A popular beach town that was under Portuguese control between 1506-1769, El Jadida has kept much of its Portuguese flavor and is the most European-looking city in Morocco. The Portuguese Cistern is also worth a visit, as the building’s underground architecture and lightly watered floor make it the city’s most impressive site.
