The Kasbah of the Oudayas has long been the center of Rabat's action. Ringed by impressive walls and fabulous gates, the Kasbah encloses a vibrant souk, a small museum of Moroccan art, lovely Andalusian gardens, and Rabat's oldest mosque (Jamaa el Atiq, constructed in 1150).
In a building within the Kasbah, the museum houses collections of musical instruments, Berber jewelry, magnificent Fez pottery exhibits, and manuscripts from the Koran. Courtesy of the Morocco Tourism Board
