Archaeological Museum

Archaeological Museum Approx. Time: 2 hours
Activity Level: Easy to Moderate

Built in 1932 and enlarged a few years later to display the finds resulting from intense archaeological research, this museum has housed the National Museum collections since 1986. It is one of the most sumptuous in Morocco and should certainly not be missed!

The well-endowed Archaeological Museum traces Morocco's history back to its earliest origins. Although the museum is small, it houses an exceptional collection of Roman era bronzes. Also displayed are flint hatchets and needles carved by Neanderthal man, as well as many other artifacts from Prehistoric, pre-Roman, and Roman civilizations.
