The Ben Youssef Medersa is Morocco's largest Koranic school. Founded by the Merinide Sultan Abou el-Hassan, the mosque is one of Marrakesh's most remarkable monuments. Of note are its magnificent decorative detail and a characteristically exquisite craftsmanship. It is a fascinating blend of North African and Spanish styles, a reminder of the days of Morocco's European presence.
