Lake Nakuru National Park is definitely the place in Kenya, and perhaps all of the world, to go Bird Watching. It is home to over a million flamingoes and over 400 species of birds. Nakuru boasts the rare Rothschild Giraffe and an extraordinary Rhino sanctuary. Close to Lake Nakuru, in the Nakuru National Park, is the first black rhino sanctuary, constructed as part of the government plan to save the rhino from extinction. At Lake Nakuru, more than a million pink flamingos may be seen feeding on the abundant algae. A few miles north of Nakuru lie the dramatic hot Sulfur Springs of Lake Bogoria, described by an early explorer as having "the most beautiful view in Africa." This is another haunt of both flamingos and large numbers of the greater kudu - the largest and most beautiful of the spiral-horned antelope.
