Lake Ashi

Lake Ashi Approx. Time: 2 hours
Activity Level: Easy to Moderate

Created in the Hakone caldera is the quiet, beautiful and scenic Lake Ashi. This slender lake at the bottom of Mt. Fuji is 20km in circumference and was formed 400 thousand years ago. The inverted reflection of Mt. Fuji viewed through the pine avenue in the southern shore is very picturesque. Lake Ashi is abundant in pond smelt, trout, black bass and other kinds of fish. Fishing is very popular here.
