Odori Park is the central park of Sapporo. On the east side of the park towers the TV Tower, the easy recognizable landmark of Sapporo. Odori Park was originally built as a fire wall between north and south, in a time when most houses were made of wood. Nowadays Odori is the center of the city. In summer people gather here to enjoy the sun while eating boiled corn, in winter Sapporo Snow Festival sculptures can be found here. Courtesy of Japan Tourism Board.
