Tondabayashi Jinai Town

Tondabayashi Jinai Town Approx. Time: 2 hours
Activity Level: Easy to Moderate

A townscape with a strong flavor of the Edo-period. Once Jinai Town was a religious community governed by the Kosho-ji Branch Temple, which was established around 1558. Today, the town is sectioned into lots in the style of the Muromachi Period (1336-1573). The Old Sugiyama Residence, designated an Important Cultural Treasure by the national government, has been restored to its mid-Edo appearance and is open to the public.
