Naniwa no Miya is a palace that was built twice during the Asuka and Nara periods. The ruins are now a designated National Historic Site. Archaeological diggings there have confirmed the existence of the ruins of an Imperial Palace Council Hall and other such buildings. The site is currently in the process of becoming a national historic park centered around these ruins.
