These are the famous areas for amazing and authentic cuisine. Two big entertainment districts in Osaka are Umeda in the northern end (Kita) and Namba in the southern end (Minami). Dotonbori is in the heart of Minami and lined with restaurants, colorful neon lights, novel billboards and many other eye-catching sights. It symbolizes Osaka in its love for food. There are plenty eateries whose motto is "cheap but good". Soemoncho runs down the other side of the canal just across from Dotonbori. It is crowded with high class restaurants, bars and clubs. In Hozenjiyokocho houses the Mizukakefudo statue before which many women wish for good fortune. There are places to eat and drink along the quiet narrow alleyways which still today give a reminder of what Osaka was like long, long ago. Hard Rock Cafe and other clubs for younger people are close by. Courtesy of Japan Tourism Board.
