Nanzenji Temple Approx. Time: 2 hours
Activity Level: Easy to Moderate

This large, active temple is one of the most important in Kyoto. Nanzenji Temple, originally a detached palace of Emperor Kameyama in the 13th century, became the headquarters of the great Rinzai sect in 1293.
