Activity Level: Easy to Moderate

Fushimiji Temple is a concentration of over 70 Buddhist temples. It is one of the temples in the Teramachi district. Legend has it that this temple was built by Togoro Imohori, the famous potato digger, who gave Kanazawa its name in the Nara period. There you will find Togoro's grave and statues of him and his wife. Inside the temple is an image of Amitabha Buddha, the only gold-plated copper statue that remains from the Heian period.
