Edo MuraApprox. Time: 2 hours
Activity Level: Easy to Moderate

This mura (village) is a collection of Edo Period temples, houses and artifacts. The collectibles were, for the most part, brought to this place from valleys which were dammed in the 1960's and 1970's. Each building has its own history but furthermore, can tells us about the feudal social system that remained until late last century. Gates from various temples and mansions, a piece of the wall from Kanazawa castle with a glass section offering a glimpse of it's wood, mud and bamboo composition, peasant's houses and many other interesting things to look at and ponder upon. Traveling to Edo Mura will take about half an hour, as it is in the hills behind the city.
