Doge's Palace and Bridge of Sighs

The palace is both a beautiful example of high Venetian Baroque and Renaissance architecture, and was the traditional heart of the Venetian Republic for centuries. Today there is also a fascinating tour of museums (including a tour of the "secrets of the Palace" although currently only in Italian) as well as the adjoining Prison and a trip across the bittersweet "Bridge of Sighs".
