The "Palazzo della Ragione" (Palace of the Reason) was built around 1100. It used to serve as a sort of town hall in the middle ages. The arches below show that it was used as a marketpalce by common people, while the important people gathered inside the building to discuss more important matters. If you pay close attention you'll notice a lion: this shows that Bergamo, for a while, was under Venice's rule.
The Palazzo della Ragione is being used - nowadays - for meetings and art exhibitions. There are also three frescos by Bramante.
