The Palazzo Publico (Public Palace) is the historical and contemporary administrative center of the city. Comprised of one end of the shell shaped Campo, the Palace holds several important historic frescos. The adjoining and notably slender Tower (Torre del Mangia) offers a spectacular Tuscan view for the energetic traveler willing to climb over 500 stairs to the top.
