Medici ChapelApprox. Time: 1 hours
Activity Level: Easiest

A must see for any Michelangelo enthusiast, the Medici chapel is a compact and dense collection of the master’s work. Conveniently located next to (actually attached to) San Lorenzo church, the chapel is at once a mass burial ground for Florence’s most important family, and a collection of impressive sculpture encrusted tombs. A little known secret lies under the chapel – for a short period of time Michelangelo was forced into hiding in a small passageway and used the walls and ceiling for his practice sketches. It is an unadvertised treat, so make sure to ask for a special (free) ticket at the entrance.
