Known both for its unique clamshell shape and for being the site of the twice annual “Palio”, the Campo is the heart of the city. The crossroads for almost a dozen different roads as well as the site of the Palazzo Publico and the amazingly slim Torre del Mangia, the Campo is almost always filled with locals and tourists alike enjoying a moment's rest from the steep hills of the city.
