This incredibly rich museum of Renaissance sculpture is notable at once for the formidability of its architecture. Once (unsurprisingly) used as a prison, the Bargello is filled with a magnificent collection of sculpture, including works from Michelangelo and Donatello (one of the few museums in the world with a fairly extensive collection of this elusive artist’s work).
