Jericho Tour in Israel Travel
Jericho Jericho is possibly the oldest city in the world, dating to 8000 BC. Most famous as the location where Joshua brought down the walls with the blowing of his horn, Jericho was once given to Cleopatra as a gift from Mark Antony. Several Biblical sites exist in or around Jericho, including Herod's winter palace, The Mount of Temptation, the city of the Essenes (where the Dead Scrolls were found), Hasham's Palace, and the Tel es Sultan. The site of Jesus' baptism is believed to be about 11 km southeast of Jericho.
