There are three or four places of this name that claim to be Cana of the New Testament. Cana, which lies four miles from Nazareth, on the road to Tiberias, is the most likely one. Cana is known throughout the Christian world, as it was the scene of the first miracle of Jesus, when he changed water into wine at a wedding feast. There are two small churches, one belonging to the Greek Orthodox, and the second to the Franciscan Fathers, that are built on the traditional site of the wedding ceremony to commemorate the first miracle of Jesus.
