Ahmedabad is the erstwhile capital of Gujarat and the textile capital of India. Ahmedabad is named after a Sultan who founded it in 1411, and graced it with splendid monuments. This city is a great textile and commercial centre, and is also known as the 'Manchester of India.' Ahmedabad is the second largest city in western India, after Mumbai.
