Also, known as Trichy, Tiruchirapalli was held by the Chola and Pallava Dynasties. The Nayakas of Madurai constructed the greater portion of this town. Sightseeing of Trichy includes a visit to the Rock Fort, a landmark of Trichy with a Ganesh Temple on the top. Also included here are excavated cave temples, and a climb up the Fort's stone steps to the "Hall of a Hundred Pillars".
