This magnificent church was built in honor of Sainte Geneviève, the patron saint of Paris, by Louis XV. Planned in neo-classical style by the famous architect Jacques-Germain Soufflot, the church soon became a monument consecrated to and housing the tombs of France's great heroes, of which Victor Hugo,Voltaire, Zola, Pierre and Marie Curie and many others. This extraordinary edifice was inspired by Rome's Pantheon and touts one of the best views of Paris from the outside of the Dome's outside galleries.
