By far one of the most beautiful and famous parks in Paris, the Jardin de Luxembourg is a popular site for Parisians to come relax, read, sail boats, stroll the gardens, cat nap, play, people watch, and admire any of the many 19th century statues which populate the park. Home to the Palais de Luxembourg, originally the private residence of royal Catherine de Medecis, the palace is now home to the French Senate. Located in the garden is one of the more romantic fountains in Paris, the Fontaine de Medicis.
