Palais PrincerApprox. Time: 2 hours
Activity Level: Easiest

Feel like royalty when you enter the sometime home of Prince Rainier and his family. The 13th-century Palais Princer sits grandly atop a cliff overlooking Monte Carlo. The palace, rich with history, is exquisitely decorated with fine tapestries, furniture, and paintings. Also displayed are Prince Rainier's throne, Princess Grace's official state portrait, and the chamber where George III died. Outside of the palace, a traditional changing of the guards occurs at 11:55 am and 5pm. A 40-minute guided tour can be arranged when the flag outside of the palace lowers, this is a sign that the prince is away, and the palace is open to tourists.
