The Musee du Vieux Marseille pays tribute to Marseille's Provencal history and character. Built in the 16th-century Maison Diamantee, the mansion was one of the few in the area that was not destroyed by Hitler. The stone carvings on the outside of the building resemble beveled diamonds, but the real jewels are the treasures within.
