Notre-DameApprox. Time: 3 hours
Activity Level: Easiest

The Cathedrale de Notre-Dame-de-Paris was a work in progress for over 200 years. The first brick was laid in 1163 by Pope Alexander III. In 1455, Joan of Arc was tried at the cathedral for heresy. The cathedral was all but demolished during the Revolution, and was restored after the popularity of Victor Hugo's 1831 novel Notre-Dame-de-Paris. Besides the poignant towers and magically delicate arches, the vibrant stained glass of the cathedral traces the lives of five saints.
