St. RafaelApprox. Time: 1 hours
Activity Level: Easy to Moderate

St. Rafael was founded by Caesar in 49 BC, and much like its Riviera neighbors, the sun-drenched city offers plenty of attractions for visitors. Complete with Roman amphitheatres, museums, religious monuments, and beautiful sandy beaches, St. Rafael offers all of the perks of the Riviera for about half of the price.

The city's Roman amphitheatre once was used to entertain soldiers when they were away from Rome, but today is the site of many bullfights and rock concerts. St. Rafael's topless beaches stretch along the coast for relaxed days spent in the sun, while most visitors head into the more popular Cannes and Nice for nighttime entertainment.
