Begin your tour at the city of Llanquihue, famous for its beautiful lake-side location and stellar reputation in agriculture, dairy, and forestry industries. Continue over the Maullín River then drive around Llanquihue Lake towards Frutillar, a charming summer resort bedecked with old German-style homes and spectacular begonia gardens. There visit the Museum of German Colonization, which exhibits objects and artifacts depicting the lifestyle of these foreign settlers. Take a lunch break in front of the lake in view of Osorno and Puntiagudo volcanoes, then proceed to Puerto Octay. Complete the tour by strolling among the turn-of-the-century architecture of this old port city.
